(Allentown, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team dropped a heartbreaker in the season finale, falling at Muhlenberg College, 5-4, on Saturday afternoon.
The Mules led 2-1 after doubles, claiming points in the top two flights. Stuart Lemay (Harwich Port, Mass./Westover) and Elizabeth Marin (Camp Hill, Pa./Cumberland Valley) came out on top of a close match in the third, winning 9-7. Marin earned the point in the sixth singles flight, in another tight battle (1-6, 7-6 (7-2), 10-7).
Sophomore Joana Nunes (Carcavelos, Portugal/St. Julian's School) won the second singles flight 7-5, 6-4. First-year Emily Sprague (South Burlington, Vt./Bluffton) won the fifth, leading (6-2, 2-0) when her opponent retired.
The Red Devils finish 4-10 overall and 3-7 in the Centennial Conference.
