(Carlisle, Pa) – The Dickinson women's tennis team held off visiting Gettysburg, 5-4 on Tuesday afternoon in a double-header with the men.
The Red Devils led 2-1 after doubles, claiming the top two flights. Junior Madison Parks (Denton, Md./North Caroline) and sophomore Joana Nunes (Carcavelos, Portugal/St. Julien's School) turned in a dominant performance to win at number two, 8-1.
Parks did not surrender a point in the third singles flight, winning (6-0, 6-0). Nunes earned her second point of the match with a (6-1, 6-1), straight set victory in the four spot.
First-year Lydia Fox (Saratoga Springs, N.Y./Arlington) secured the win with a (6-1, 6-3) victory in the fifth singles flight.
Senior Sydney Diamond (Westford, Mass./Westford Academy) teamed with sophomore Lauren Altschuler (Malvern, Pa./Eastern) for the win in the top doubles spot, 8-4.
The Red Devils improve to 6-3 overall and 3-2 in the Centennial Conference. They travel to Haverford College on Saturday for a 12:00 pm start.
