(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson softball team dropped a Centennial Conference double-header to visiting Gettysburg on Sunday afternoon, falling 3-0 in the opener and 5-0 in the nightcap.
The Bullets scored lone runs in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings to take game one. Jamie Abell led the way, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored.
Aileen Reilly earned the win with a three-hit effort, recording three strikeouts in the opener.
The Bullets jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning of game two. They produced two more in the fourth behind three walks and an error to extend the lead to 4-0.
They tacked on another unearned run in the sixth for the final of 5-0. Morgan Clauser improved to 10-2 in the circle, holding the Devils to four hits while striking out three. Abell went 2-for-4 in the nightcap.
Madison Milaszewski (Rutland, Mass./Sutton) suffered the loss in the opener, recording three strikeouts. She came on relief of Emily Rosenberg (Fredericksburg, Va./Massaponax) in game two, adding another while allowing just one hit. Killian Kueny (Ewing, N.J./Ewing) came on for three strikeouts in the final two innings.
The Red Devils slip to 7-17 on the season. They travel to Juniata College on Tuesday for a non-conference double-header with the Eagles at 3:00 pm.
