(Fredericksburg, Va.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team had a tough start to the spring schedule, falling to the University of Mary Washington and Salisbury University on Saturday.
The Red Devils suffered 9-0 setbacks in both matches. Neve Brennan (Bala Cynwyd, Pa./Lower Merion) and Emily Sprague (South Burlington, Vt./South Burlington) played a tight match with Salisbury, dropping a 9-7 decision in doubles.
First-year Lexi Epstein (Falmouth, Maine/Waynflete) overcame a tough first set to put up a challenge in the second flight, but fell (6-1, 7-6 (7-6)). Brennan had a solid start but went (6-4, 6-0) in singles.
The Red Devils slip to 1-2 on the season. They're next match will be in Orlando, Florida on spring break when they face Northwestern (Minn.) at 10:00 am.
