Softball Keeps Rolling in Arizona With 4-1 Win

(Tucson, Ariz.) – The Dickinson softball team continued its strong start in Arizona, scoring four runs in the top of the fifth inning to post a 4-1 win over Wisconsin-Lacrosse. The Red Devils ran into a 9-2 setback against Cornell College to move to 6-2 on the season, snapping a five game win streak.

The game against Wisconsin was scoreless through the first four innings with strong pitching on both sides. The Red Devils came alive in the fifth, scoring four runs with two outs.

Senior Nicole Clayton (Chadds Ford, Pa./Garnet Valley) drew a two-out walk to load the bases before back-to-back singles from sophomore Kat Parise (Pine Bush, N.Y./Pine Bush) and first-year Maggie McConney (Collegeville, Pa./Spring-Ford) drove in three runs while Parise came in to score on a bad throw.

The Eagles answered with one run in the bottom half of the inning, but that would be all as the Red Devils win their fifth straight game.

Junior Madison Milaszewski (Rutland, Mass./Sutton) had a great outing in the circle, recording 11 strikeouts in a complete game effort.

McConney and Parise each tallied two hits in the game while senior Jessica Epstein (Madison, N.J./Madison) added a double in the sixth inning.

he Red Devils will look to keep rolling on Tuesday, facing Cornell College.
