(Carlisle, Pa.) – The Dickinson women's tennis team suffered a 6-3 setback to visiting Franklin & Marshall College on Thursday afternoon.
Hanna Butler (Gibson Island, Md./Severn School) and Olivia Shea (West Hartford, Conn./Kingswood-Oxford) earned the first point for the Red Devils, winning the second doubles flight, 8-2.
Butler earned her second point of the day, claiming second singles, 6-3, 6-4. Shea battled in the fourth singles flight, playing a marathon before falling 7-6, 7-6 (10-8).
First-year Lexi Epstein (Falmouth, Maine/Waynflete) overcame a tough first set and finished strong to win in the number three-spot, (3-6, 6-1, 6-1).
Lauren Altschuler (Malvern, Pa./Eastern) and Epstein played a tough match on the top doubles flight, dropping an 8-6 decision.
F&M improves to 5-3 overall and 3-0 in the Centennial Conference. The Red Devils slip to 4-7 on the year and 0-3 in the Centennial Conference.
