Men's & Women's Tennis Suffer Setbacks at Johns Hopkins

(Baltimore, Md.) – The Dickinson men's and women's tennis teams opened the season at Johns Hopkins University on Saturday afternoon. Both teams suffered setbacks with the men falling 9-0 while the women dropped an 8-1 decision.

Sophomores Ariana Goitz (Gibsonia, Pa./Shady Side Academy) and Martine Fierro (Greenwich, Conn./Greenwich) claimed the lone point, capturing second doubles, 8-6.

Romano De Caprio (Darien, Conn./Darien) battled in the top doubles spot with Thomas Griffin (Clifton, Va./Woodberry Forest) and played a strong match in the fourth singles flight. Griffin took a pair of games in the top singles flight.

The Red Devils return home next weekend to host Gettysburg College on Saturday.
