GETTYSBURG, Pa. - Dickinson women's tennis senior Lexi Epstein won both her matches on the day, but the host Gettysburg College took four of the six singles matches to barely edge out the Red and White 5-4 on Wednesday afternoon at the Bullets Tennis Courts.
Doubles (DEVILS 2-1)
The Red Devils top two pairs earned victories on the day with the first unit of Martine Fierro and Ariana Goitz knocking off Catherine Haley and Gillian Rozenfeld by a score of 8-3. Dickinson also found success at second doubles with Izzy Desjardins and Epstein holding on for a slim 8-6 win over Julia Gowland and Sarah Guistwite. Gettysburg's lone win in doubles came at the third slot with Kate Alianiello and Shoshi Dondes taking down Dana Kleinman and Molly Michel 8-3.
Singles (Gettysburg 4-2)
The Red and White picked up their wins at the number three and four spots thanks to Anabelle Armendarez and Epstein. Epstein earned a convincing straight-set victory at the third spot 6-2, 6-0, while a match later Armendarez held on for a 7-6 first-set win before coasting 6-1 in the second. The final two matches went the distance, but both Melissa Abbott and Kleinman came out on the wrong end. At fifth, Kleinman and Alexis Rinker traded 6-2 wins, before Rinker held on for a 7-5 win in the third. Abbott concluded the singles action at sixth by falling behind a set, but then won the second 7-5 however dropped the third 6-1. Fierro fell at number one 6-0, 6-2, and Goitz lost at second both sets by scores of 6-3.

Dickinson (6-7, 1-4 Centennial) returns home on Saturday afternoon at 1 p.m. to battle the Fords of Haverford College on the Hays Tennis Courts.
