Devils Downed by Fords

CARLISLE, Pa. - The Dickinson women's tennis team continued Centennial Conference action on Saturday with a matchup against the visiting Haverford College Fords at Hays Tennis Courts. Unfortunately, for the Red and White Haverford collected the 7-2 victory.

Doubles (Haverford 2-1)

The top Devils pair of Martine Fierro and Ariana Goitz had a tough go against Ellie Esterowitz and Abbey Russano as they fell 8-1. Izzy Desjardins and Lexi Epstein fought hard, but dropped an 8-4 decision to Mimi Lavin and Summer Williams. Dickinson collected a win at third doubles via forfeit as the Fords did not have a duo to battle Dana Kleinman and Molly Michel.

Singles (Haverford 5-1)

The only match to go three sets was Kleinman at fifth singles as she came up short against Liv Pindzola 6-4, 4-6, 10-4. Anabelle Armendarez took a combined five games off of Williams in a 6-3, 6-2 setback, while Fierro grabbed four during a 6-4, 6-0 loss to Russano. Ariana Goitz (6-1, 6-0) and Epstein (6-1, 6-1) also suffered losses at second and third singles. Dickinson was awarded a win at sixth singles as no Ford was available to challenge Desjardins.
