CHESTERTOWN, Md. - The Dickinson women's tennis team battled all afternoon but ultimately did not have the depth to knock off the host Washington College as the Shorewomen picked up a 9-0 win on Saturday afternoon in Centennial Conference play.
Doubles (Washington 3-0)
The duo of Martine Fierro and Ariana Goitz put up a strong showing against Maria Cristina Diaz-Nazario and Alisha White, but in the end, came up on the wrong end of an 8-4 decision. At the third doubles the pair of Dana Kleinman and Molly Michel gave all they had against Bin Nguyen and Katie Ruppert, however, dropped a tightly contested 8-5 match. Izzy Desjardins and Lexi Epstein were overpowered by Irene Meng and Piper Sartison 8-1.
Singles (Washington 6-0)
After a slow start at first singles, Fierro pushed Meng to the limit in the second, before falling short 2-6, 6-7. Goitz and White battled at second singles with the WC playing coming out on top 6-4, 6-1, while Epstein also won five games against Piper Sartison in a 6-2, 6-3 defeat. Desjardins competed against Ruppert at the number six spot but did not have enough falling 6-3, 6-1. Anabelle Armendarez and Kleinman were both held off the scoreboard.

Dickinson (5-6, 0-3 Centennial) returns to action next Saturday (4/9) when they will look to snap their three-game skid as they welcome Muhlenberg College at 1 p.m.
