Inside the Game
The first two innings went by without either side being able to mount any kind of threat against starters Molly O'Sullivan and
Riley Kuehn. In the top of the third, Kuehn allowed a one-out walk to Iris Barone but did not allow her to go any further than second base as she swiped it during Flannery McFadden's at-bat. As things shifted to the last of the third that is when DC went to work as back-to-back singles from
Devon Kueny and
Jane Lloyd set the stage for an RBI double for
Eden Blanker that plated Kueny but saw Lloyd retired on the basepath.
Paige Hahn then provided an RBI two-bagger to center, followed by a walk to
Emily Whelan. That brought Barron into the circle and she was greeted by
Emma Varella stealing home and a run-scoring hit for
Zoe Kleeblatt making it 4-0. After
Jessie Sandusky was hit Kohan stretched it to 5-0 with a double to center. A free pass to
Laila Gwathmey filled the bags with one down for Lloyd who worked another walk scoring Sandusky pushing the margin to 6-0 through three.
Swarthmore got one back during the fourth as with two gone a double and a single to right from Cassidy Cheong cut it down to 6-1. It would stay the way until the top of the sixth when a fielder's choice and single by Cheong put two on base for Kate Hart. She smoked the Kuehn offering to center to plate two more. That would chase Kuehn from the circle and bring on Kohan who allowed a single to right to load the bases, before getting Brooke Coneeny to flyout to left retiring the side. The Devils would shut the door on the visitors in the top of the seventh as a leadoff single went for nought as a groundout, flyout and strikeout finished the game.

Lindsay Kucker (6-3) | L - Sarah Schab (3-3)
Inside the Game
Dickinson tried to get something going in the first when Kueny started things off with a single to right, followed by a walk to Lloyd. However, a strikeout and caught stealing of Kueny left one on for Hahn who worked a walk to put two on. The next batter was Whelan and she popped up to first for the final out. Kucker allowed one of just four hits during the top of the second, but had her go no further sitting down the next to batters to retire the side.
The pitching continued to be the story of the game up until the last of the fourth when the Red and White finally got to Schab. Hahn began things with a knock to right and then was lifted for Varella to pinch run. After back-to-back groundouts advanced her to third, Sandusky smashed a double to center for the 1-0 lead. Kohan then followed with an RBI of her own bumping it to 2-0 after four. Kucker surrendered just a single and a hit batter over the ensuing two frames letting DC maintain the 2-0 edge heading into the seventh. A walk and single with one down gave the Garnet a lifeline. After a flyout by Cheong things really got dicey when Barone singled to left filling the pillows for McFadden. Kucker made the pitch she needed to make getting her to groundout to Blanker at third to end the game.
