LANCASTER, Pa. - For the second time this season the Dickinson football team has seen their quarterback named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Week as first-year
Ben Klassen garnered the honor from the league office on Sunday afternoon.
The native of Airdrie, Alberta, made his first career start under center a memorable one as he found
Rocco DiRico for the game-winning 22-yard score with less than a minute to go in a 31-28 win over Christopher Newport. Klassen also found DiRico in the final minute of the second quarter for an 18-yard TD strike to give the Red and White a 21-14 halftime advantage. The rookie went 21-of-35 through the air for 241 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions. He was also the second-leading rusher for the Red Devils, carrying the rock seven times for 72 yards for an average of 10.3 yards per rush. The win moved DC to 3-2 on the season.
The Red and White return to Biddle Field on Saturday afternoon at 1pm to take on McDaniel College in Centennial Conference action.
