LANCASTER, Pa. – Sophomore
Alisa Steele claimed a win at number one singles to account for the lone Dickinson win on Wednesday afternoon as the host Franklin & Marshall College picked up an 8-1 Centennial Conference win at the Brooks Tennis Center.
Doubles (Diplomats 3-0)
The second and third pairs comprised of
Sara Jaklitsch and Steele along with
Maddie Lindquist and
Molly Michel each were able to grab two games against their opponents in 8-2 defeats. The duo of
Jenna Crain and
Dana Kleinman were unable to capture a game off of Mackenzie Sherman and Sophia Rhazali falling by a margin of 8-0.
Singles (Diplomats 5-1)
The Devils only win of the afternoon happened at the number one slot where Steele and Jenna Harrison traded sets, before Steele posted a 10-4 win in the super tiebreaker. Kleinman was the next closest member of the Red and White to nab a win falling 2-6, 3-6 to Sherman. Both
Anabelle Armendarez and Lindquist playing at the fourth and sixth spots were tripped up by identical 1-6, 1-6 scorelines by Rebecca Bellick and Kakie Colclough. Michel took a crack at playing number two against Rhazali dropping a 1-6, 0-6 match.
Katharine van Kesteren in the fifth spot was the only Devil not to pick up a game on the day falling 0-6, 0-6 to Amelia Squires.
The First Serve
Dickinson (9-5, 3-3 Centennial) will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon when they head to Chestertown, Maryland for a matchup with the Shorewomen of Washington College. First serve between the two conference foes is set for 1pm.
