Erin McMahon joined sophomores
Eden Blanker and
Jessie Sandusky on the Second Team, while the sophomore trio of
Abby Kohan,
Jane Lloyd and
Kaylie Renner were tabbed for Honorable Mention.
Second Team
Blanker, a native of Orangeburg, New York, appeared and started in all 32 games for the Red and White during the 2024 season posting a .270 batting average thanks to 27 hits, including a team-leading eight doubles and one home run with 20 runs batted in. The sophomore was also quite strong in the field, finishing with a .969 fielding percentage on 90 putouts and 36 assists. Blanker ended the season with six multi-hit games, which included going 2-for-4 in both ends of a doubleheader against Alvernia University totaling two doubles and a pair of RBIs. During a seven-game hit streak which spanned from March 15th to April 6th, she collected four doubles and seven RBIs to go along with scoring four runs.
McMahon, a native of Bluepoint, New York, got it done at the plate, in the field and in the circle making 26 appearances starting in 23 of them during her rookie year. At the dish, she held the third-best average on the team at .324 with 22 hits resulting in 13 RBIs. In the circle, McMahon possessed a 3-6 record tossing 53.1 innings and fanning 42 batters, while out in the field she recorded 68 putouts and seven helpers leading to a .987 fielding percentage. Over the course of the year she posted seven multi-hit games two of which occurred during a six-game hit streak when she went 9-of-18 (.500) tallying seven RBIs and one two-bagger, in addition to crossing the plate four times herself.
Sandusky, a native of Mahwah, New Jersey, appeared in and started 30 games for the Devils. She led the team in batting with a .370 which was good for sixth in the conference, while ranking second in the CC for triples at four in addition to collecting 14 RBIs, 17 walks and three doubles. The sophomore had ten two-plus hit games on the year, which saw three of them come during a nine-game hitting streak. In that stretch, she racked up five RBIs, two triples, two doubles and scored 13 runs. One of her best games of the season came on March 25th in the second game of a doubleheader versus Wilson College when she went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and scored three runs.
Honorable Mention
Kohan, a native of Arlington, Virginia, made an appearance in all 32 games, making 31 starts for the Red and White. She put forth strong efforts on both the circle and the plate hitting .245 with 23 hits and nine runs driven in. At the circle she paced the Devils with five wins over her 81.2 innings pitched to go along with her 3.34 earned run average, six complete games and a team-best 48 strikeouts. One of Kohan's most memorable pitching performances came on April 7th versus Muhlenberg when she hurled a ten-inning complete game scattering seven hits leading to five runs (three earned) and fanning four. Her next two outings against Franklin & Marshall and Haverford resulted in two more complete games allowing just three runs on eight hits, while striking out a combined 15 hitters. At the plate, Kohan had five multi-hit games including a pair of 3-for-3 games in which she collected two RBIs.
Lloyd, a native of Yardley, Pennsylvania, had a solid sophomore campaign appearing and starting in 31 games recording a . 293 batting average with three doubles and 14 RBIs, while drawing 17 free passes and going a perfect 11-for-11 in stolen base attempts. In the field she had a .965 fielding percentage with 54 putouts and one helper. At the plate, she totaled seven multi-hit games on the season. She ended the year on a six-game hitting streak going 9-for-16 with two doubles and one RBI, in addition to scoring five times. In the regular season finale on April 27th at home versus Washington College she successfully completed all nine of her fielding chances.
Renner, a native of Carle Place, New York, appeared in 28 games, making 26 starts posting a .268 batting average with 19 hits and a dozen RBIs, while walking nine times and scoring once. In the circle, she held a 3-5 record making five starts out of her 20 appearances hurling 60 innings and fanning eight. The sophomore had two multi-hit games on the season picking up a season-high three hits and two RBIs against Muhlenberg College on April 7th. Â Â Â
