Inside the Game
- Trevor Orth started the game on the hill for the home side and immediately ran into trouble as three straight doubles for Dylan Posencheg, Kaden Sigmon and Ryan Thompson followed by a knock from Matt Torres opened the top of the first leading to two coming home. A pair of RC errors with Josh Markley and Christian Kim hitting helped plate three more making it 5-0.
- Devils starter Austin Buzza had a clean home-half of the first, but then hit problems during the last of the second as a single, error and hit batter set the stage for Corey Coogan to clear the bags with a single trimming it to 5-3 with two away. Another single and second DC miscue of the frame plated two more to tie things up at 5-5.
- Markley kicked off the top of the third with a walk, before Chase Weller stepped up behind him with an RBI two-bagger. Following a free pass to Luke Gartland, Finn Lamb went to the hill and gave up a walk to Ryan O'Connor and single to Posencheg making it 7-5. A groundout by Sigmon resulted in Gartland coming in stretching the lead out to 8-5 through two-and-a-half.
- The scoring just kept on coming in the next half inning as a double and fielder's choice allowed Tyler Galloway to rip a two-run double to center. Later in the frame a DC error had two-on with two away for Kyle Moshier who put the Maroons in front 9-8 entering the fourth thanks to another two-run double.
- Dickinson got even during the top of the fourth when with the bases full and one gone, Kim produced an RBI fielder's choice off of reliver Palmer Griffin.
- Peichel took over for Buzza in the home-half of the inning and was excellent over the next three innings and scattered just three hits as the game remained tied entering the seventh.
- Burgess replaced Griffin at that point and got two quick outs, before allowing a knock to Posencheg and an RBI two-bagger to Sigmon giving DC a 10-9 edge after seven. Dickinson added two more an inning later when singles by Torres and Weller put two on for Kim who drove them both in for the 12-9 lead.
- Glen Cantalupo Jr. pitched a scoreless seventh and eighth, followed by a one-two-three ninth by Grayson Walker to pick up the save.

Inside the Game
- The Red and White for the second game in a row struck in the first as an error, single by Sigmon and sacrifice bunt for Thompson had two in scoring position against Owen Wojciechowski with one down. That brought Torres to the dish and he smashed a single to left for a 1-0 lead heading to the bottom-half.
- After the early Dickinson score, starting pitchers Ben Myers and Wojciechowski as they combined to allow three hits over the next three-and-a-half innings as things stayed at 1-0 into the fifth.
- In the top of the fifth walks to O'Connor and Sigmon along with a single for Posencheg loaded the bags with one away. That was when Torres legged out a fielder's choice to second base which drove home O'Connor from third to make it 2-0 going to the home-half. Myers would provide the needed shutdown frame with a pair of groundouts and a strikeout of Galloway.
- Dickinson continued to hold onto the 2-0 into the last of seventh, when with one away two doubles, a single and a hit batter against new arm Charlie Bien resulted in two coming across to tie the game. That led to Dylan Robinson being summoned in from the pen to face Liam Murphy who collected a two-run single giving the Maroons a 4-2 advantage into the eighth.
- Unfortunately, for the Devils Brooks would retire them "six-up, six-down" over the remaining two innings, while the home side picked up one more to set the 5-2 final.
