BRIDGEWATER, Va. - The Dickinson baseball team entered the last of the ninth on Tuesday three outs away from an impressive non-conference road win at Bridgewater College. Unfortunately, the Red and White were unable to hold onto their 6-5 edge as the Eagles picked up three in the bottom-half of the frame including a walkoff two-run homer from Ashton Smith to claim the 8-6 win at Bridgewater Baseball Field.

Inside the Game
- Dickinson got to BC starter Lucas Cash in the first as Dylan Posencheg was hit, Ryan Thompson walked and Matt Torres reached on an error to load the bases with one down. That led to a sac fly for Josh Markley and RBI knock to left from Chase Weller to make it 2-0 after just a half.
- However, DC starter Sam Bliss was tagged for two in the home-half when with two on and two down Smith cleared the bags with a double to left-center. Bliss than got Bryce Suters to pop up to first for the final out.
- The next two innings went by scoreless until the Devils got on the board during the top of the fourth as Markley doubled and Luke Gartland legged out an infield hit to put men on the corners for Christian Kim. He would square off with new arm Andrew Baugher and put the guests ahead by one with a sac bunt.
- Once again though the Eagles had a response with two singles and walk loading the bags for Nick Stavros who came up with a two-run single to left making it 4-3 as the game entered the fifth.
- This time it was Dickinson that answered right back as a single and stolen base for Kaden Sigmon allowed Ryan Thompson to smack the game-tying single back up the box. Markley came up with another single in the frame, but would go no further.
- After a silent home-half of the fifth put up by Drew Norton, the Devils would take advantage of a hit batter and an error to set the stage for a sac fly off the bat of Posencheg to reclaim the lead at 5-4. Unfortunately, a walk and stolen base for Eagles allowed Chandler Valbak to knot things up with a base hit to right.
- Things stayed tied into the eighth when a double by Gartland, was followed two batters later with an RBI two-bagger off the stick of Ethan Sodl. He would go no further though as Posencheg went down on strikes to retire the side.
- In the last of the ninth, two walks and a wild pitch put two in scoring position for Trent Holland who provided a game-tying sac fly to right, before Smith drove the ball over the wall against Cantalupo Jr. to end the game at 8-6.
