THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. - The Dickinson baseball team got a strong pitching performance from
Ben Myers and pounded out 16 hits among eight different players, while racking up 11 runs between the second and third innings en route to a dominant 13-2 non-conference win over the 23rd-ranked Kingsmen of California Lutheran University.

- After a quiet first for both sides, Dickinson went to work against starter Caleb Wilson in the top of the second. Doubles from Kevin Schmidt and Ryan Thompson coupled with a single by Luke Gartland led to two coming in and leaving one at second. The rally appeared to be stalling out as a flyout and strikeout had one on and two down for Josh Markley. He would reach on an error allowing Schmidt to race home. Back-to-back doubles between Kaden Sigmon and Kyle Bailey allowed the score to stretch out to 5-0. Thompson would complete the batting around the order with an RBI up the box to make it 6-0 heading to the home half.
- The home side would use two errors and a wild pitch in the bottom of the frame to scratch one across leaving the score 6-1 through two.
- Dickinson continue to pound the ball around the yard as Schmidt singled, George Thorp was plunked and Sigmon walked to load the pillows with two away for Bailey. He would face Daniel Orozco who was summoned in from the pen and he greeted him quite rudely with a two-run knock to left (8-1). Johnny Bruno then legged out an infield RBI single, before Thompson smashed a two-run, two-bagger to right-center extending the margin to 11-1.
- Myers continued his strong day on the hill in the home-half as he would hit Carlos Vega, before sitting down the next three CLU hitters to move the game to the fourth.
- Dickinson would take on Matt Campo in the top of the frame and using a Luke Gartland single, Will Ferris walk and Thorp hit batter they had bases loaded with one down for Markley. He delivered with a two-run single into right field making it 13-1.
- With one away in the bottom-half a single and DC error had Kingsmen on first and second for Bostan Ujimori. He would faceoff with new Devils pitcher Glen Cantalupo Jr. and draw a walk to fill the bags. The next man up was Jacob Blickenderfer and he picked up an RBI fielder's choice, before Wes Lynch went down chasing strike three to end the game.
