CARLISLE, Pa. - Dickinson Baseball Head Coach
Craig Hanson is very excited to announce the addition of
Kraigen Rasalla to his coaching staff. Rasalla will serve as the Pitching Coach and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator for the Red and White, and will also assist Strength Coach
Mike Myers in programming and implementing strength and conditioning programs across all of Dickinson's Athletic Programs.
Rasalla comes to Carlisle after spending the last two seasons at the University of Virginia (UVA) where he was on staff as the operating and recruiting assistant and head of camps. During his time in Charlottesville, UVA hosted both the NCAA Regionals and Super Regionals before punching their ticket to the 2024 College World Series. Additionally, they had 11 players drafted across the 2024-2025 seasons, including five pitchers.
Coach Hanson on the addition of Rasalla: "We are thrilled to have Kraigen joining our baseball program. We had an incredibly strong applicant pool and his background and resume really stood out to us. He brings a wealth of knowledge and energy to Carlisle, and his experience recruiting and developing student athletes at the highest of levels, will immediately benefit our baseball program and pitching staff."
Prior to his time at UVA, Rasalla spent three seasons at the University of Scranton. In his first season as the Royals pitching coach, Scranton captured the 2022 Landmark Conference Regular Season Championship and set a program record with 28 wins, during that season the pitching staff produced the best ERA, WHIP and walks allowed per nine rate in the league. In 2021, Scranton won the program's first ever Landmark Conference Championship and advanced to its first NCAA Tournament. During his tenure, three pitchers earned All-Conference honors and Daniel Johnson was named Landmark Conference Pitcher of the Year.
As a student-athlete, Rasalla played one season at Lackawanna College in Scranton, Pa. He helped the Falcons win the Region XIX title in 2015 while pitching to a 0.88 ERA in 41 innings, primarily as a relief pitcher.
Rasalla finished the final three years of his career playing at Division II Dominican University in Orangeburg, NY. In 2016, he earned all-conference honors as a relief pitcher. In 2017, Rasalla earned CACC Tournament MVP Honors as Dominican won the CACC Conference Tournament and earned a bid into the Division II NCAA Tournament. For the season, he led the CACC with 82.1 innings pitched while pitching to a 2.84 ERA. In 2018, Rasalla served as one of the team captains and earned CACC All-Academic honors.
Rasalla graduated from Dominican University with a bachelor's degree in communications in 2018.
Rasalla is excited to join the coaching staff and to get to work. "I would like to thank Coach Hanson, Celine Cunningham, and the entire Dickinson College community for this great opportunity and for welcoming me to Carlisle. Dickinson is a place where student-athletes can pursue one of the best degrees in America, while competing for championships on the baseball field. I am looking forward to working with Coach Hanson and the rest of our coaching staff to help our baseball players accomplish both of those goals."
