WASHINGTON - The Dickinson women's squash team picked up wins at the top of the ladder on Saturday afternoon thanks to the dynamic duo of
Anabel Romero and
Katie Herring, but it would not be enough as the host Georgetown University posted a 7-2 win in the season finale for the Red and White at the Squash on Fire Complex.
Inside the Match
In the one slot, Romero exchanged the first four games with Sanah Syed before showing true grit in an 11-5 win during the deciding fifth. Then at two, things could not have been much tighter with all four games ending in 11-9 scorelines with Herring getting the better of Cecilia Curran.
Victoria Savelius was the only other Dickinson combatant to grab a game as she took the first from Sydney Bramen, prior to dropping the ensuing three. Unfortunately, for Dickinson the remaining competitors all suffered 3-0 setbacks.
