Inside the Game
- Each team got a runner in the first inning, but neither one was able to get beyond second. Then, after a quiet top of the second, Brian Fleming ledoff with a single before two batters later being driven home on a two-run homer from Logan Duff. Norton then got back-to-back popouts to retire the side.
- Dickinson pulled one back during the top of third as walks to Freeman Hunt and Dylan Posencheg along with a single by Josh Markley filled the bags for Kyle Bailey. He would work a walk to force home Hunt knocking the gap to 2-1 entering the home-half. However, the hosts struck back plating two runs thanks to a pair of singles and a fielder's choice making it 4-1 heading it to the fourth.
- After homering early in the game Duff reached on an error and then stole second, before CJ Chatterton sent a pitch over the right-center field wall bumping the margin to 6-1 entering the fifth.
- During the top of the frame, the Red and White would get themselves back into the game with a walk to Markley and an R-M fielding miscue putting two on. Kevin Schmindt then worked a free pass to load the cushions for Bailey. He drew an RBI walk and then was followed by consecutive RBI groundouts from JD Stemhagen and Luke Gartland cutting the deficit to 6-4. However, once again the Yellow Jackets had the answer this time against new arm Michael Niszczak as two singles and a groundout had two in scoring position for Jon Quici. He deposited a two-run double down the right field line and Elias Brooks provided a sacrifice fly to center tacking three more runs to the home total (9-4). Two doubles, an error and home run accounted for three more in the ensuing inning extending the lead to 12-4 after six.
- Dickinson added one more in the final frame when with one down and the bases loaded Schmidt was hit by a pitch to force in DC's fifth run. Unfortunately, a pair of flyouts closed out the game.
