Inside the Game
  • Following a quiet top of first against Austin Buzza, the Devils came to bat in the last of the first against Von Behren and using base hits from Will Ferris and Kyle Bailey took a 1-0 lead.
  • McDaniel tallied four hits during the top of the second to plate a pair to grab a 2-1 edge. However, the Red and White responded during the home-half when with two on and one out a free pass to Kumpa set the stage for Posencheg to provide a sacrifice fly to right tying the game.
  • Thomas Mezzullo drew a lead off walk to start the third, before back-to-back two baggers for Ben Davis and Anthony Cerone put the guests ahead 4-2. Bruno kicked off the bottom-half by being hit by a pitch. Bailey then bounced into a double play and Luke Gartland grounded out to third retiring the side.
  • Buzza continued to be solid on the hill setting down the visitors in order during the top of the fourth. Josh Markley led things off with a double to right followed by Freeman Hunt being hit and Ethan Sodl legging out an infield single. That brought Kumpa to the dish and he stroked a two-run single up the line in right making it 4-4. That ended the day for Von Behren as he was replaced by Jake Young. He immediately allowed a sac fly to Posencheg, before Bruno bashed one of the wall in left for a 7-4 advantage after four.
  • Another clean frame for Buzza gave the hosts a chance to pile on in the last of the fifth. Walks to both Gartland and Markley allowed Hunt to drive home one with a double to left. Preston Yost then entered from the pen and watched Posencheg reach on a error to plate one prior to Ferris coming up with a sac fly to center pushing the margin to 10-4.
  • Both teams struck in the sixth as a double and single led to a sacrifice fly to right scoring one. Markley singled to left and Hunt was safe of an error bringing Sodl to the dish. He smacked the ball through the left-side to score one (11-5).
  • Two singles and a two-bagger against Buzza during the seventh allowed two more to come in for MC with two away. Drew Norton then was summoned to the hill and got DJ Stolba to line out to center ending the threat. Dickinson would then take advantage of a pair of visiting errors in the eighth to pick up their 12th of the game (12-7).
  • With McDaniel facing their final chance, a double and single had two in scoring position with one out. Fortunately, Norton then locked things down getting a pop-up and strikeout to end the game.
