CARLISLE, Pa. – After a magical 2025 campaign that saw the program reach a Centennial Conference title game and an appearance in the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament second-year head coach Maggie Sohns and the ninth-ranked Dickinson field hockey team will open up their 2026 season tomorrow night at local rival and 22nd-ranked Messiah University for the sixth consecutive season. First hit between the Red Devils and the Falcons is slated for 7pm at Anderson Field.

Schedule Overview

• The Devils will play eight matchups on the home turf after going an unblemished 12-0 in 2025, while taking it to the road nine times.
• Once again the Red and White have a schedule stocked with opponents sitting inside the National Field Hockey Coaches Association preseason Top-25 poll (#2 Johns Hopkins, #16 Franklin & Marshall, #18 Lynchburg, #20 Shenandoah, #21 Haverford, #22 Messiah and #23 Washington and Lee).
• Following their opener at Messiah, the Devils will have three straight matchups in Carlisle starting with a visit from the 23rd-ranked Generals on Saturday, September 5th at noon. Susquehanna and Lynchburg arrive in town the following week on Wednesday the 9th (4pm) and Sunday the 13th (1pm). 
• Dickinson will then embark on a four-game road trip that takes them to Shenandoah (9/16), DeSales (9/19), Juniata (9/23) and the Centennial Conference opener at Ursinus on the 26th at 12pm.
• A conference tournament final rematch awaits the Devils on September 30th in Carlisle at 4pm. That begins a stretch of four out of five at home as Bryn Mawr (10/3 @ 1pm), Gettysburg (10/14 @ 4pm) and Haverford (10/17 @ 12pm) also visit the Biddle Field Complex, while a trip to Swarthmore on October 10th is the only traveling that is required during that time.
• The final home contest of the season comes up on Saturday, October 24th at 11am against the rival Diplomats from Franklin & Marshall.
• Senior Day will be Saturday, October 3rd at 1pm versus Bryn Mawr.

  • Coming out of our strong 2025 campaign our schedule is certainly a little more on the challenging side this year, but I'm excited for the team to face some of the top teams in the country and compete at a higher level than ever before.
• What have you seen in the preseason that has you excited about the season?
  • The team's cohesiveness on and off the field is palpable, and I cannot wait to see how that translates into game action. From seniors to first-years, everyone is working hard and it shows in everything we've done so far. 
• How have your first-years acclimated to the college game so far?
  • Overall our first-years have done an incredible job hitting the ground running. They have all come in ready to work, and are eager to contribute to the team and the culture that we are continuing to build each day. 
• What to expect from your team?
  • Overall, the team is really just looking to continue to build off of the excitement and competitiveness from last year. We are fortunate to be returning and adding lots of talent, and I cannot wait to see how this season goes.
